Christie Walsh, LPC
Have your daily struggles piled up so high that you no longer recognize your own life? These struggles often strain your most important relationships and leave you feeling trapped and unfulfilled.
I’m an experienced licensed counselor who helps adults, couples and adolescents to live a more fulfilling life. Together, we’ll work to effectively sort through the tensions or problems that bring you to therapy by developing a concrete plan of action to help you reach your goals.
My approach to counseling is primarily based in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), which is an active, collaborative form of counseling that helps you to understand the connection between your thoughts, feelings, and behaviors. As your therapist, I will listen deeply while also gently challenging you to actively apply the strategies learned in therapy in your life and your relationships.
My areas of specialization include relationship issues, anxiety/depression, trauma, career-related issues, family conflict, and personal development and growth.
If you are ready to make some changes but aren’t sure how, take the first step now by contacting me to see how it is that I can help. I look forward to working with you soon!
Couples and Relationship Therapy
Relationships are a lot of work, regardless of the stage of the relationship. Your partner and you can be a significant resource for one another when positive and emotionally supportive. In contrast, couples experiencing internal/external stressors affecting their relationship can cause significant distress. Therefore, how the couple interacts with each other is an important factor that can either buffer or worsen feelings of distress. In my work with couples, I promote healthy communication, seek to increase your understanding of the dynamics in your relationship and present the opportunity to take responsibility for feelings while being accountable for one’s role in the relationship.
