Counseling for Teens
Parenting a struggling teen can feel incredibly isolating and lonely. But it doesn’t have to be. Maybe you’ve have had one too many calls from your teen’s teachers and you’re starting to feel judged. You ‘re trying your best but getting your teen out of bed in the morning has become a losing battle no matter what you try. Maybe you’re concerned about your teen having trouble making friends or falling into the wrong group of friends. Or you feel guilty because you’re going through a divorce and see your teen having trouble adjusting to the changes that come with that monumental transition. Maybe you notice your teen withdrawing more or becoming more anxious and that’s not how they were when they were little. Maybe your teen is gifted and becoming paralyzed with anxiety with perfectionistic thinking, no matter how much you tell them that it’s okay to make mistakes.
You want to help your teen find their way through whatever life obstacles they’re facing. Just the fact that you’re reading this, says that you’re a concerned parent (or grandparent.)
The statistics of adolescents struggling with mental health issues in our ever-changing, uncertain, and complex world are staggering. One in every five teens is struggling with depression or anxiety, according to the CDC, and the rates continue to increase.
