Counseling for Young Adults (18-25)
This adulting thing is hard. Like really hard – relationships, bills, job, friends, breakups, moving out on your own (or not,) moving in with a partner (or not,) college/grad school (or not,) confusion about future goals and what you’re “supposed” to be doing. Add a global pandemic to the mix that’s called your “future” and you have a perfect storm of confusion, chaos, frustration, and stress.
This is not how it was supposed to be.
When you were a teen, you couldn’t wait to get out there on your own and call your own shots.
But now, that seems like a monumental task and you’re not sure how to navigate all the pieces and parts.
You just want some clarity and to stop feeling so lost already.
Here’s how Integrity Psychological Services Helps Young Adults:
Everybody gets down from time to time. It’s normal to have a few days here and there of feeling down. But if you find that your mood isn’t lifting after a few weeks and you notice that you’re struggling with feeling more fatigued than usual, have thoughts of hopelessness/worthlessness, feel more irritable than usual, have trouble concentrating, aren’t interested in things that you used to like to do, and/or find yourself sleeping/eating a lot more (or less) than is usual for you, or if you’re having thoughts of suicide*, you may be dealing with clinical depression and you might benefit from talking with a mental health professional.
And we all get anxious too sometimes – bills, exams, life choices – all of that’s stressful. But if you find yourself worrying so much that you have trouble sleeping, can’t turn the thoughts off, have panic attacks, or are avoiding socializing because of worrying about what others will think of you, then you may be dealing with a type of clinical anxiety that would benefit from professional treatment.
Or maybe it’s not all that. Maybe you just feel like it’d be helpful to have an objective, neutral third-party to bounce some things off in terms of how to best move forward in your life.
Someone who doesn’t have an agenda on which choice you make.
Integrity Psychological Services specializes in the use of evidence-backed counseling solutions such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, EMDR and Positive Psychology, which are extremely well-researched and have been shown to be highly effective.
We’re a caring, sensitive and non-judgy group of counselors, psychologists, and therapists. Our goal is to teach you how to be your own therapist so that you can effectively manage your life on a day-to-day basis.
Most of our clients report a significant relief of symptoms and improvement within just one to three sessions (but a complete course of treatment is generally between 8 to 16 sessions.)
Call us today or send us an email so that our Client Services Coordinator (and expert at client-therapist matching,) can connect you with the right therapist.
For those of you who like to nerd out on research like we do, check out our Evidence for Evidence-Based Therapy page to see why CBT is considered to be the “Gold Standard” treatment.
