I'm an experienced, licensed psychologist who has been helping people get "unstuck" from unhelpful behavior patterns for over 20 years. Whether you're facing a temporary, difficult life situation or struggling with more long-standing problems like depression or anxiety, I can help. My style is direct and active - I don't simply nod my head while you talk. I'll listen closely, we'll work together on the problem and I'll offer you supportive, non-judgmental and practical feedback that will help you to navigate through the issue as quickly and effectively as possible.
Anxiety reduction is a central focus and specialization of my practice. Examples of areas in which I specialize include chronic work-related stress, challenges with life transitions like post-divorce adjustment, retirement, relocation, career changes,the end of a romantic relationship, and panic attacks,social anxiety and chronic worry.
I also have extensive experience in working with the stressors that are unique to teachers and other high-stress occupations. In addition, I also offer career testing to assist with work transition issues.

The decision to seek help from a mental health professional is not an easy one. If you’ve never been in therapy before, you likely have no idea what to expect, and you may worry that you’ll be judged, criticized, or labeled as “crazy.” If you have been to therapy before, the thought of “starting all over” with someone new can also be overwhelming, especially if your previous experiences haven’t been very helpful.

I received my doctorate in Clinical Psychology at The Wright Institute in Berkeley, California, and I received my Bachelor of Arts degrees in Psychology and Music from the University of California at Santa Barbara. In addition, I am currently a member of the American Psychological Association.

I also know that, sometimes, this can be difficult because of barriers caused by difficult circumstances, unhelpful thought patterns, and distressing emotions.
As a licensed psychologist, I am trained in and experienced with utilizing evidence-based practices to help people overcome these barriers in a warm, supportive, and non-judgmental way. I listen closely to understand your unique context so that we can collaboratively identify a plan to help you feel better as quickly as possible. My areas of specialization include working with adults and adolescents who are struggling with life transitions, self-esteem, depression, anxiety, and relationship issues.
I have additional training and passion working with adult survivors of childhood emotional abuse and neglect. I also specialize in helping couples, including those who are struggling with moving past infidelity.
